| Description |
(1 in a multiple picture album) This cabin sits just above Soda Springs on the north edge of Tuolumne Meadows in the high country of Yosemite National Park. It was built about 1889 by John Baptist Lembert, the first European settler on the Tuolumne Meadows area of Yosemite. The huge Lembert Dome was named for him. The Tuolumne River runs just down the hill from it. The McCauley family bought it from him, lived in it for some time and then sold it to the park service. Seems like a wonderful place to have lived. |
