Description
English: First proposed in 1885, construction of the railway bridge crossing the Brisbane River between Roma Street and South Brisbane commenced in 1975 and opened on 18 November 1978.

Overhead electrification between Shorncliffe and Kingston was installed in 1981-1982 ahead of the Commonwealth Games.
