Description The prominent east ridge of Mont Maudit, the second highest mountain in French Alps after Mont Blanc. The route Arête Küffner starts at this Bivourc de la Forche, merging up to the summit ridge, which is the skyline in this photo. It is also called Frontier Ridge, Tour-Ronde Ridge, Boarder Ridge, or Arête de la Brenva. Long and sustained mixed (mainly on rock) climbing at high altitude around 4000 metres at Difficile.
