Description
The donor of the painting kneels beneath Christ's Cross. The coat of arms indicates that he is a member of the Sti(e)bar family, presumably the Bamberg Cathedral dean Johann Sti(e)bar of Buttenheim (d. 1487). The so-called Master LCz received his name from monograms on his very remarkable copper engravings.[1]
