PLEASE, NO invitations or self promotions, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks. The light was built on Portage Island at the entrance of the Miramichi River, 6 kilometers (4mi) from the village of Burnt Church. It was equipped with a kerosene lamp until the 1950s, after which an electric lamp was installed. The cupola if made of cast-iron. The New Brunswick Aquarium and Marine Centre acquired it in 1986.
