Naval Facilities Engineering Command Support Facility Diego Garcia recently holds a ribbon cutting ceremony, celebrating the completion of a $1.32 million artificial turf and lighting field, Sept. 3 .

The field will serve as an efficient platform to promote the Navy’s goal to create “Fitness for Life”. The artificial turf provides a more uniform playing surface and will eliminate coral injuries greatly improving safety. (U.S. Navy photo by )
