The polder of Eastern Flevoland has partially dried up after the impoldering of the land. Geologists determine the soil structure with soil samples taken with soil core samplers. Archeologists stand next to a shipwreck which ran aground there about 50 years ago. The pumps of the pumping-station Wortman pump the rest of the polder dry. Fishermen from Elburg fish the remaining water empty and take the fish to Harderwijk. The large fish are sold at the fish auction, the small fish will be used as food for ducks. The other boats in Elburg are on dry land. |
