| Description |
English: NSWR Instruction Carriage Interior of No.FZ 909 at Trainworks, the New South Wales Railway Museum, Thirlmere, 31 March 2016. In 1884 2 of these cars were built by Gilbert Bush of Troy, NY to an American design incorporating Davis Patent Sleeping Births. This particular car entered service as No.9 'Lady Robinson' and was later renumbered as B9, then AH9. In 1907 it was converted to the NSW Commissioners Car No.AAH9. In 1919 it was again converted to a 1st class 'sitting car' No.SBX 909. In 1925 it was yet again rebuilt as an Instruction Carriage for the Railway Institute, surviving in such use until 1974. |
