English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
Education in Suriname, a.o. in former plantation houses and a shaved ice vendor during the break. In the rice district a new school has been opened at the former plantation De Nieuwe Grond (The New Soil) for the children of Hindu farmers from the surrounding area who cultivate rice. There are a lot of empty seats in the classroom, because many children have to help plant the rice.
Nederlands: Bioscoopjournaals waarin Nederlandse onderwerpen van een bepaalde week worden gepresenteerd.
Onderwijs in Suriname, oa in oude plantagehuizen en een schaafijsverkoper tijdens de pauze. In het rijstdistrict is op de voormalige plantage De Nieuwe Grond een nieuwe school in gebruik genomen voor de kinderen van de rijstverbouwende hindoestaanse boeren uit de omgeving. Er zijn vele lege plekken in de klas, omdat de kinderen moeten helpen met het planten van rijst. |
