Retable d'Issenheim : partie sculptée (attribuée à Nicolas de Haguenau, sculpteur à Strasbourg vers 1500). Saint Augustin et Guy Guers, Saint Antoine, les porteurs d’offrande, Saint Jérôme, Le Christ et les apôtres Le retable ouvert permettait aux pèlerins et malades de vénérer saint Antoine, protecteur et guérisseur du feu de Saint-Antoine ou mal des ardents. Saint Antoine trône, tel un souverain, au centre de la caisse et à ses côtés se trouve l’emblème de la communauté, le cochon. De part et d’autre, deux porteurs d’offrande illustrent ces dons en nature, importante source de revenus pour les Antonins. Cette niche centrale est encadrée par saint Augustin et saint Jérôme, pères de l’Église. Le commanditaire, Guy Guers, est agenouillé aux pieds de saint augustin.
