Fridtjof Nansen ble invitert av republikkens president som ba ham om å reise rundt for å undersøke forholdene i landet slik at han kunne gi råd om utviklingsmulighetene.
English: A place for sleeping, typical of the area, where the insects (especially the mosquitoes, who were carriers of malaria), were less bothersome. One of the pictures from the journey through Georgia during the period July 3 to July 14, 1925. Fridtjof Nansen was invited by the president of the republic to travel around and look at the conditions in the country, so that he could give advice on the possibilities for development.
Deutsch: Eine Schlafstelle, typisch für das Gebiet, wo die Insekten (spez. die Mücken die Malaria verbreiteten), weniger lästig waren. Eines der Bilder von der Reise durch Georgien im Zeitraum 3. Juli bis 14. Juli 1925. Fridtjof Nansen wurde vom Präsidenten der Republik eingeladen, der ihn bat herumzureisen und die Verhältnisse im Land zu untersuchen, damit er ihm Rat um Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten geben könne.
