Description
English: Fort Monostor. Now, museum. The fort is a complex of irregular polygon-shaped defenses which surrounding a central courtyard. Parts: the northern side of a three-storey cannon tower, on west and south 'oldalazómű' defense structures are located, the entrance can be find on east . In the area of the fort underground corridors connecting the following separate parts: the entrance and command buildings, the east half tower, a bakery, south 'kaponier', SW corner defense works, the east-west kaponier, NW Corner of defense works, the Danube Tower, the officers' building, the hospital, the barn and the shooting classroom. The first parts created under Napoleonic wars extended in 1848-1849. It was sapper barracks, military warehouse. Since the early 1970s, it has become the largest ammunition depot of the South Soviet Army Group. - Komárom, Komárom-Esztergom County, Hungary.
