Description
English: Shokoufeh Shadabi (left) & Arshia Jahangirnezhad (right) performing at Nowruz 2018 at Seattle City Hall. The event was sponsored by Seattle-Isfahan Sister City Advocacy.

Shadabi was born in Kermanshah, Iran and came to the United States in 2011 as a refugee. She earned a Bachelor’s from the University of Washington School of Public Health and (as of 2018) is graduate student in Computer Science at Seattle University, pursuing a Master's. She is a former contralto vocalist, and has recently been combining Farsi lyrics with jazz standards.

Arshia Jahangirnezhad was born in Ahwaz, Iran, and is also both a musician (violin, guitar) and a technologist. He earned a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology, and also studied harmony and advance harmony under Prof. Mashayekhi. He has orchestrated for Tehran OKF student symphony brass section and composed music for theater pieces.
