PIJLER BIJ HEDEL OPGEBLAZEN; Weekjournaal van Polygoon Hollands Nieuws van week 40 uit 1947.; De spoorbrug bij Hedel werd in de meidagen van 1940 verwoest. Er werd daarna een noodbrug aangelegd op pijlers. De spoorbrug is inmiddels hersteld en de noodbrug is verwijderd. Een van de pijlers van de oude noodbrug, een massief blok beton, staat nog altijd in het water, midden onder de spoorbrug en midden in de vaarweg van de scheepvaart. Deze pijler wordt nu met explosieven in stukken geblazen zodat de resten makkelijk stuk voor stuk kunnen worden weggehaald. SHIOTS: opblazen van de pijler.
