Description

Palmer at Marquette Place, Uptown New Orleans. Surviving 19th century metal corner bollard. Behind it metal gutter bridge with Henry Clay street name (when surviving gutter bridges are seen, they often have names of other streets some were reused in different locations after streetworks.)

A large amount of such old metal street furniture was removed for scrap metal drives during World War II, and more have been lost in the decades since.
