English: Paul Bunyan and Babe the blue ox, concrete folk art at Trees of Mystery attraction in Klamath, south of Crescent City, California. The sign under Bunyan's foot reads in part: "Paul Bunyan welcomes you to the Trees of Mystery Klamath, California. Weight 30,000 lbs, Concrete base 80,000 lbs, Height 49 feet 2 in. Waist 52 feet around, Axe 27 feet long, Chest 66 feet around, Boots 10 feet high" and the one under Babe reads: "Babe - 35 feet tall to horn tips and weighs 30,000 pounds". The original Bunyan was built in 1946; rebuilt in 1961. The current Babe built in 1950. Their original configuration was one on each side of the building. Babe was subsequently moved to his current location next to Bunyan. |
