English: The mechanism signed: Gohier A Paris 1654, engraved inscription: Pour le Roi de Pologne Jean Casemir. Probably the first pendulum clock in Florence, in the ebony frame and crystal glass, was a gift from King John Casimir. Inventory of the collections of the Grand Dukes of Tuscany of 1690, described it as a gift from Poland. |
