Description
English:
Saint Stephen of Hungary church. Built in between 1771 and 1795. Burned down in 1812. Renovated sacrified in 1860. In 1910 extended remodelled. Planned by Győző Czigler and Ede Dvorák. Sandstone and marble altar is a Lipót Híld works. Rieger pipe organ (1891 works). Altarpieces are Andor Boruth local painter works. Steccoes Manó Pertrasovszkym Leó Petrasovszky and István Takács 1929 works. Stained glass windows are Gida Waltherr works (1910) - Hősök (Heroes') Square/Széchenyi Square, Sátoraljaújhely, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, Hungary.

Szent István király-templom. 1771-től 1795-ig építették föl az új Szent Kereszt templomot, ami 1812-ben újra leégett. A felújítást követően 1860-ban (máshol 1850-ben) Szent István tiszteletére szentelték fel. 1909 és 1911 között keresthajóval bővítették. /máshol 1910. szeptember 8-án szentelték fel(?)./ 1948-ban itt temették el Madarász István kassai püspököt. A templom déli végében található reneszánsz kagylódíszes fülkében Szent István homokkő szobros főoltár valamint a szentkút, a szószék és a Szent sír márbánybetétes homokkő mellékoltár,-amely a torony alatt helyezkedik el,-Hild Lipót soproni kőfaragó mesterműhelyében készült (1910). Rieger orgona (1891). Két oltárképét (Páduai Szent Antal és Árpádházi Szent Erzsébet) Boruth Andor újhelyi festőművész festette. A Nepomuki Szetn János és Mária Mennybemenetele freskókat 1796-ban készít, A mellékoltárok egy budai kolostorból kerületek ide. A neogótikus oltárok a 20. század elején készültek. A templom szekkóit,-1985-ben lemeszelték,-Hartmann Alajos. Petrasovszky Manó, Petrasovszky Leó és Takács István készítette 1929-ben.
