Description
English: 1913 postcard of Pike Place Market Seattle, Washington, U.S. The caption says "A scene at the Public Market, First Avenue and Peke (sic) Street, Seattle." In fact, the view is clearly from the corner of Pike Street, looking northwest on Pike Place. The Leland Hotel and Main and North Arcades stand in the same places today, although the Main Arcade has been completely rebuilt.


In the background is the old Washington National Guard Armory that was demolished c. 1968. See Image:Pike Place Market - North Arcade and Armory - 1919.jpg for a better view.
