Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_69740_בשית 4.jpg Notes: הכפר בשית היה ממוקם 16.5 קquotמ מדרום-מערב לרמלה. בסוף המאה ה-19 בתיו היו בנויים מלבני בוץ וקש ובמרכזו על גבעה עמד מסגד עם שלוש כיפות. ב-1945 היה מספר התושבים כ- 1600 בעיקר מוסלמים. ליד המסגד היו בארות ובורות מים. חטיבת גבעתי כבשה את בשית במאי 1948 לפני סיום המנדט הבריטי. שבעה יישובים הוקמו על אדמות הכפר הנטושות נווה מבטח מישר כפר מרדכי משגב דב כנות שדמה ועשרת שבשוליו נמצאת הגבעה עם המסגד המוקף בעשבים קוצים ושיחי צבר וחדריו שוקקים באלפי עטלפים.
