Porslinskål från Mingdynastin, 1500-tal.
Nyckelord: Skål, Kinesiskt porslin, Föremålsbild, 1500-tal, Porslin, Ming
Description
Överglasyrmålning, den blå färgen under glasyren.På bottnens utsida i blått under glasyren finns otydbara tecken (troligen skrivna av en illiterat person)Porcelain bowl decorated over the glaze in coloured enamels and remains of gilding. Ming dynasty 1550-1600Porcelains decorated in overglaze red that was gilded are known as kinrande, a Japanese term meaning “gold brocade”. The style was popular in Japan, but also exported to Europe, the Near East and South America. The gold, which has almost entirely worn off this bowl, was cut from thin sheets of gold foil and stuck in place with lacquer. The piece is quite unnusual because it has overglaze enamel roundels set against a red ground. Many bowls of this type have red roundels on an enamelled ground, because the red and gold areas would be smaller and thus cheaper and less laborious to complete. The mark on the base has no meaning, for it was written by a potter who was probably illiterate.
