PUERTO DE BENASQUE
Frontera hispano-francesa Llanado <Puerto Nuevo> en el siglo XVI, sustituyó al Puerto de la Glera o <Puerto Viejio> en la ruta transpirenaica de Benasque a Luchon. Acondicionado artificialmente para facilitar el paso, fue fortificado mediante un puesto de vigilancia durante la guerra franco-española de 1793-1795.
Desde comienzos del siglo XX fue paulatinamente abandonado como vía comercial en favor de usos turistico y deportivos.

PORT DE VENASQUE
Frontière franco-espagnole. Appelé <Port Neuf> au XVIe siècle, il remplaça le Port de la Glère (ou <Port Vieux>) sur la route transpyrénéenne Luchon-Vénasque. Aménagé artificiellement pour faciliter le passage, il fut fortifié par un poste de surveillance durant la guerre franco-espagnole de 1793-1795.
Dés le début du XIXe siècle, l'abandon progressif de cet itinéraire en tant que voie commerciale, privilégia des utilisations touristiques et sportives.
