Description
Français : Frise à inscription coranique - Iran, Saveh - vers 1000-1100 - Louvre - MAO 446 - Stuc moulé, modelé, traces de peintures. le cartel indique : Les stucs ont été mis au jour à Saveh en 1929, on ignore de quel monument ils proviennent. ils appartenaient à un décor mural plus vaste qui comportait, à l'origine, l'ensemble d'un verset coranique dont ne sont visibles ici que le début (MAO 446) et la fin (MAO 447). la calligraphie s'apparente à celle de monuments de Saveh et de Nayin. le style un peu sec de la sculpture évoque des stucs trouvés à Rayy, qui proviendraient de palais et d'écoles.
