Röd porslinsvas gjord i Kina på 1700-talet.
Nyckelord: Kangxi
Description
Svenska: VAS. Vase.Porcelain vase with high-fired copper red glazeKangxi period (1662-1722)Glazes using copper to colour their glazes could produce an especially beautiful tone. However, it was difficult to achieve a deep cherry-tinted red like this vase. If a copper red glaze mis-fired it turned grey or brown, or even volatilised off the surface altogether. During the early Ming dynasty in the 15th century, fine copper red glazes were made, but during the 16th century the technique was lost. It was only in the Kangxi period in the late 17th century that good-quality copper red glazes were attained once more.
