Description

Hemlock woolly adelgid Adelges tsugae Ricketts Glen State Park, Luzerne County.

Numerous small, white, cottony masses at the base of the needles denote the presence of the pest. At the state park, infestations have greatly damaged the old-growth hemlocks along Kitchen Creek and Boston Run.
