Summary edit
DescriptionRedundent Railcars stored at San Nicola.jpg |
English: The Treno della Sila is the highest 950mm gauge line in Europe, with an altitude of more than 1200m above sea level. The rack & pinion section has now been abandoned, but the Altipiano (high plains) section of 24 km between Moccone and San Nicola near Cosenza is oerated as a tourist railway with this impressive Borsig 0-8-0T of 1919. Grades are steep and curves are tight testing the loco to it's limits! |
