Description
  • Scope and content: The case file from which this document originates, which pertains to Lee Wong Hing, a Holyoke, MA merchant, documents his efforts for readmission to the United States under the Chinese Exclusion Act. In this case, the Chinese Inspector had investigated Lee and his business to determine whether or not in fell under the exemption for merchants contained within the law. The file contains photos of the business and extensive interrogations.
