Description
English:
Plaque at the entry, Reformed church. Baroque, 1776. Built by József Jung and József Haber. Furnishings: altar table, pulpit, benches, copf, late 18th century. Enclosed, single-nave late Baroque church. In front of its east-facing main façade, a staircase leads up, closed by a gate from the street. - In the 2nd half of the 18th century Counter-Reformation ceased, the Roman Catholic church accepted the existence of protestants who were finally allowed to build churches, but only without bells and a tower and it was still not possible that the main entrance face a main road. The congregation of Gomba received a permission to build a stone church from queen Maria Theresa in 1773. The church planned by builder master József Jung and master carpenter József Hacker (Háber?). Stones were probably carried from the quarries of Buda by yoke carts. The reformed church was consecrated on October 8th, 1776, but the tower was not completed before 1778. The chuchtower damaged by lighting in 1830. The reconsturction completed in 1862. In 1859 new organ built,-by organ builder master Ferdinand Komornyik,-instead of the old smaller one. In 1912 an earthquake split the church legthweise. Between 2005 and 2006 both external and external parts of the church completely renovated, financed by the European Union Agricultural and Rural Development Operational Program.
