Description

New Orleans, 1939.

"The Rocheblave Market (203 North Rocheblave Street) repaired by WPA workmen who installed plumbing and electrical fixtures, built new stalls, removed sidewalk sheds, plastered and painted th e interior and exterior of the market. All decayed woodwork was repaired or replaced and the roof repaired. This market was one of six city markets built or modernized by WPA at a cost of $245,000."
