Summary edit

Description
English: First pager of the New-York Tribune Graphic Section for July 27, 1919. Caption: "The very unusual pastel portrait above reproduced is a recent sketch by Rolf Armstrong of Joan, Greenwich Village's popular interpretive dancer. Mr. Armstrong, a six-foot American and one of the most talented of our younger artists, while enjoying a marked success as a painter of magazine covers, is making numerous experiments adapting the most modern developments in color and character drawing to his portraiture of beautiful women. Armstrong is establishing a studio in Paris shortly, where his efforts will be watched with considerable interest by American artists and art lovers. Creations of his, developed in Europe, will be reproduced from time to time on this page."
