Russula lenkunya Grgurinovic

Image location: Yarrahapinni State Forest, North of Grassy Head, New South Wales, Australia

This fungi was a single growth in an area that had recently been flooded with fresh water. It was not deep in the substrate and was easily removed. The pileus was shallowy depressed with noticeable loss of colouring. The pileus was approximately 4cm across and the stipe about 5cm. The stipe was thick and had colouring that reduced to white towards the base of the stipe.

Recognized by sight: just a guess because of certain similarity … also compare R. clelandii group.
