Description
English: Wawona Tree — a former Giant Sequoia 'tunnel tree' in the Wawona Grove, Yosemite National Park.
Français : Wawona Tree — en 1881, un tunnel fut creusé à la base de ce séquoia géant, élargissant une brèche faite par le feu. L'arbre devint alors une attraction réputée. Mais en 1969, des chutes de neige déposèrent sur l'arbre une couche de deux tonnes, ce qui provoqua sa chute. Son âge put être estimé à environ 2.300 ans.
