| Description |
English: Built as a 54' 7-compartment 'birdcage' Brake Composite (2nd/3rd) by the SECR in 1911 at Ashford, when transferred to the IoW in 1949 by BR(SR) it was converted at Lancing to a 4-compartment Brake 3rd to create a larger luggage van whilst the guard's birdcage was removed because of the restricted loading gauge. It is pictured in (BR) SR livery at Haven Street, Isle of Wight Steam Railway, 10/00. Scanned slide taken with a Canon AE-1 Program. |
