DescriptionS is for Secularism.jpg |
Today was the big day. The AHS launch has finally arrived. I have been looking forward to it for a long time. This event has been in planning since November and a lot of work has gone into it. The AHS is the National Federation of Atheist, Humanist and Secular student societies. It is an umbrella organisation for all the godless societies like the Warwick Atheists around the UK. It will provide advice, support and resources and act as a central structure where we can all meet up and of course have a good time. We aim to spread reason and rational thinking on campus' , you would think this is not needed, but in recent years rational thinking has come under attack from the increasingly influential religions on campus. I won't go on but for more info see www.ahsstudents.org It was a fantastic and very successful day with people coming to London from all over th country. Norman Ralph the president made a fantastic speech and he was then followed by talks by Polly Toynbee, A. C. Grayling and Richard Dawkins. We were also in the national papers today. It's all very exiting and I really hope that the AHS carries on as it has started. |
