Die mit Trickszenen angereicherte Dokumentation zeigt das Konzept und die einzelnen Bauphasen einer Schachtsanierung im Schieferbergbau nach einem speziell entwickelten Verfahren. Bei laufendem Förderbetrieb wird auf der Moselschiefergrube Katzenberg der seit den 1950er Jahren benutzte Betonzentralschacht samt dem Förderturm abgebrochen. Denn er befand sich in einer Bergehalde, deren Druck er nicht mehr stand hielt. An seiner Stelle entsteht eine flexible Schachtröhre aus einzelnen Betonringen, in der ein stählerner Förderturm mit Stahlfördergerüst errichtet wird.
