Summary

DescriptionSchinkelkirche Grossbeeren.jpg	Deutsch: Die in Form eines griechischen Kreuzes erbaute und sich durch reiches (neu-)gotisches Dekor auszeichnende Kirche von Großbeeren wurde vom großen preußischen Baumeister Karl - Friedrich Schinkel entworfen. Sie bildet bis heute ein besonderes Kleinod im Ortskern von Großbeeren. Die Kirche entstand von 1818 bis 1820 und war ein Geschenk des preußischen Staates an das damalige Dorf Großbeeren aus Dankbarkeit über die siegreiche Schlacht gegen die napoleonischen Truppen 1813, in deren Folge die erneute Besetzung Berlins verhindert wurde.
