Johanniskirche, Schwäbisch Gmünd, Baden-Württemberg, Germany Deutsch: Gemälde des Johann Georg Heberlen (1652–1725) zur Ringlegende, erstellt in 1714 nach einer Vorlage von 1670. Das Gemälde hängt an der Nordseite des Chors und zeigt die Johanniskirche im gotischen Stil vor der Rückromanisierung im 19. Jahrhundert. Inschrift am unteren Rand: „Ursprung der St. Ioanniskirche und statt gmündt. Als Fridericus Anticus Hertzog in Schwaben und seine Ehgemahl Agnes welche Kaysers Henrich IV. Tochter zu Lorch residierde und mit seiner Jagt sich belustigten, verlohr Agnes den gemahl Ring, der hier an diselbige Haltstatt, wo der Ring gefunden wurde, dann dieße Kirche erbaven laßen. welches dan durch göttliche Fuhrung Auf folgende Weiße geschehen. A. der gemahl Ring wurde in dem gewicht eines gewalten Hürsches, welcher erlegt gefunden. B. der Ring wurde der Hertzogin Agnes wieder. C. die erbaute St. Ioanniskirch sambt dem thurn der schwindelstein genannt. D. die damahlige Residende Lorch. E. daß schloß Hohenstauffen. F. die waldungen wo dermahlen die statt gmünd stehet, sich der Ring verlohren hatte wohin die gantze gegend deß Remß-Thals durch Johann georg Heberlen delinirt und gemalt worden. A. D.
