Description
English: Plaque at the East Edgar Street street end on the west side of Portage Bay (a bay of Lake Union), Seattle, Washington. Seattle shoreline street end #70. This street end is also known as Astrid's Park, though it does not have official status as a city park. Astrid Caroline Neal, after whom the street end is unofficially named, was a champion skier and Olympic contender who died in a ski accident on Crystal Mountain at age 17 in 1981. The plaque reads, "The Portage Bay - Roanoke Park community and friends of Astrid Caroline Neal 1964-1981 funded and built this park 1981".
