Description

Upwards shot of the Mutual Life Building, 605 First Avenue in the Pioneer Square neighborhood, Seattle, Washington, USA, showing detail of the terracotta work. Built in 1891–92, the Mutual Life Building was originally called the Yesler Building (a name that now applies to the former Scandinavian American Bank Building - also Bank of Commerce Building - to its south across Yesler Way). It became the Mutual Life Building when that company moved in, in 1895. An extension was added at the rear circa 1904.
