English: Tommy's Lunch in Security Market, Seattle, Washington, 1969. In 1929, the Security Public Market (a.k.a. Securities Public Market, designed by Henry Bittman) was constructed on the south side of Virginia Street between Third and Fourth Avenues; the south end of the same block still houses the (older) Securities Building. Heavily altered to add a parking garage in 1961 connecting the two buildings and going both over and under the market building to hideous architectural effect, it closed as a market roughly a decade later. In the late 20th and early 21st Century, the structure was occupied by a Bed Bath and Beyond.
