Description

Shonna White is the author of the novel Lost Infernal. She is also known by the online pseudonym Sraointe at on deviantART where Shonna displays her graphite work, digital work, and photography.

Shonna is a Canadian born writer and artist based out of Calgary, Alberta. Creativity is where she finds her centre. It constantly challenges, frustrates, and invigorates her. Writing is Shonna’s preferred form of expression. Like so many young people, it started with bad emotional poetry. By the age of twelve, she was already writing novel-sized manuscripts. At fourteen, she won her first serious acknowledgement when she entered a short-story competition with people much older and experienced than herself. The letters she received back from both the Calgary Publisher’s Society and fellow contestants, were full of praise. Still, a perfectionist at heart, she’s always struggled with sharing her writing, always feeling as though readers deserve better (something she can give them if she just works on it a bit longer). She has created countless training manuals, marketing booklets, and other non-fiction works, however, Lost Infernal her first attempt to bring a novel to fruition.

Drawing is what Shonna does when the words just aren’t coming. She works minimally in digital mediums (her digital art can be found all over her website www.lostinfernal.com), preferring to work in with a good old fashioned set of pencils. It is a medium she believes to be under utilized in today’s more technology driven world. Previously known as Sraointe on deviantART, Shonna has done a considerable amount of revisualisation of established characters, but is working more and more toward original characters she’s designed. She enjoys the challenge of the male form and she has been dubbed ‘The Queen of Male Pin-Up’. If ever given the chance, she would love to do pieces for some of her favourite character designers, including Tetsuya Nomura and Tite Kubo.
