English: Sundial in the park Homeyers Anger in Recke, Kreis Steinfurt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It was created by Albert Jan Jansen in 1998 in honouring "350 years of the Peace of Westphalia". The latin inscription Pax optima rerum means Peace is the best of things.
Deutsch: Von Albert Jan Jansen geschaffene Sonnenuhr im Bürgerpark Homeyers Anger in Recke, Kreis Steinfurt, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland. Das Werk in Form eines aufgeschlagenen Buches entstand 1998 anlässlich des Jubiläumsjahres "350 Jahre Westfälischer Friede" und stand zunächst in Osnabrück. Die lateinische Inschrift im Sockel Pax optima rerum bedeutet Friede ist die beste Sache. |
