Soundscapes of Norrköping (9) |
||||
Description |
English: Looking towards the harbor one sees a large bridge with heavy traffic on it. This is the fastest route for heavier traffic when they are headed towards the industries alongside the bay, and there are still quite a few industries and large containerships here. There is also a single train track for freight trains, but they don't appear very often.
Not much can be heard here apart from the traffic. And one might wonder why I chose to record this soundscape in particular. Well, the city council has made plans of buying out all the industries and making this entire old industrial port to new housings. If and when that happens, this particular soundscape that today is so very much connected with this area will most likely be gone forever. Photo and recording by Erik Pålsson. |
