Description Southern Vectis 1144 Osborne Bay (HW09 BBX), a Scania OmniCity, in Staplers Road, Newport, Isle of Wight on route 5. Route 5 does not usually travel along Staplers Road, but due to the Isle of Wight Festival 2012 which was taking place at the time, Fairlee Road had been made one-way, so buses travelling out of Newport had to go via Staplers. In this case however, the bus was travelling into Newport. For 2012, on Thursday the police made the decision to close Fairlee Road entirely due to heavy traffic congestion caused by a difficulty in getting vehicles in and around the Isle of Wight Festival site.
