Deutsch: Nordwestansicht der röm.-kath. Pfarrkirche Mariä Himmelfahrt in der steiermärkischen Gemeinde Spital am Semmering.
Die Kirche wurde um das Jahr 1160 begonnen und 1163 von Erzbischof Eberhard von Salzburg geweiht. Die heutige Kirche entstand in drei große Bauperioden, nämlich die romanische, jene des so genannten „Übergangsstiles“ zwischen Romanik und Frühgotik und die spätgotische. In der ersten, romanischen Bauperiode, wurde der vordere Teil des heutigen Kirchenschiffes errichtet. Um das Jahr 1260 wurde die Kirche nach Osten hin erweitert. Während dieser zweiten Bauperiode wurde der ursprüngliche Altarraum (Apsis) abgebrochen und nach Osten verlegt sowie der heutige, massive Kirchturm errichtet. Anfang des 16. Jahrhunderts wurde die Kirche nochmals erweitert bzw. umgebaut. Von 1903 bis 1906 erfolgte eine umfangreiche Renovierung; dabei wurde auch die Dachform der Kirche völlig verändert: [1].
