Description
Deutsch: Sprockhövel, Gevelsberger Str..1 a, leicht nach Westen versetzt steht vor der Turmfront der evangelischen Kirche Haßlinghausen ein Obelisk, der als Kriegerdenkmal an die Gefallenen und Vermissten des französisch-preußischen Krieges 1870/71 aus Haßlinghausen und Hiddinghausen erinnert. Auf dem Schaft, der zwischen Sockel und Obelisk vermittelt, stehen die Namen der 16 Verstorbenen sowie Art (gefallen/gestorben/vermisst) und Datum ihres Todes, auf dem Obelisken folgende Inschrift:
Ihren gefallenen Söhnen die dankbaren Gemeinden Hasslinghausen [sic!] und Hiddinghausen.
Bekrönt wird der Text vom Bronzerelief eines Eisernen Kreuzes im Eichenlaubkranz.
