English: Commemorative plaque of recovery of the cult in 1796 after the French revolution. Church Saint-Jacques-du-Haut-Pas, Paris 5th arr.
Translation of the latin text : After the disastrous years where sacrilegious hands filled with ruins this parish church, on year 1796 of Jesus-Christ, by God's mercy and pious and devoted care of Mr. Collette Baudicourt, the holy sacrifice was again celebrated on June 24 celebration St. John the Baptist on a temporary wooden altar outside the high walls of the choir still filled with rubble. Each year, this event was recalled by solemn prayers that have been interrupted and were restored at the request of former parishioners on the year 1864 by M. Eugene MIRON pastor of this church St. Jacques, willing to perpetuate this pious memory. Français : Plaque commémorative de la restauration du culte en 1796 après la révolution. Église Saint-Jacques-du-Haut-Pas, Paris 5e arr. Traduction du texte latin : Après les temps désastreux où des mains sacrilèges remplirent de ruines cette église paroissiale, l'an de JC 1796, par la miséricorde de Dieu et les soins pieux et dévoués de M. Collette de Baudicourt, le saint sacrifice fut de nouveau célébré le 24 juin fête de Saint-Jean Baptiste sur un autel provisoire en bois élevé hors de l'enceinte du choeur encore rempli de décombres. Chaque année, cet évènement était rappelé par des prières solennelles qui ayant été interrompues furent rétablies à la demande d'anciens paroissiens l'an du salut 1864 par M. Eugène MIRON curé de Saint-Jacques désireux de perpétuer ainsi ce pieux souvenir. |
