DescriptionSt John's Steps - Uneven steps - Church of St John the Baptist - Bromsgrove - Lych Gate.jpg |
Earlier I noticed these uneven steps, that lead up to the church in Bromsgrove. Before I left, I headed for them, so I wouldn't regret missing them. They are called St John's Steps, and they were completely renovated by 2007. Meaning that the work on them took place during 2006. You can access them from St John Street (to the right of Scotts Holt & Sellars Solicitors). From the top of the steps near the church itself. The Grade II listed Lych Gate. Lych Gate of St John the Baptist Church, Bromsgrove ST JOHN'S STREET 1. 909 Lych Gate of St John the Baptist Church SO 9570 NE 2/60 28.4.52. II GV 2. Probably medieval origin but with much of the timber replaced. Tiled gable roof and end posts embedded in later wall. The Council Offices, Church of St John' s, The Lych Gate and No 12 form a group.
