Description
English: dedication plaque and kentish ragstone . AMDG = Ad majorem Dei gloriam, to the greater glory of God.

To commemorate the coronation of King George V & Queen Mary June 22 A.D. 1911. THis tower and spire were restored by the congretation. HWW Goudge JG TInner Church-wardens ....WD Keith-Steele Vicar. The spire may be seen here THe church was built in 1855 by the rogueish (for church architecture) AD Gough who also designed SS Mark and Anne, Tollington Park, N4. Extended in 1871 and restored, as above, in 1911. I can't find more information about the then vicar, although he had two young children, Katherine and Archibald at the time. His wife Rosa died in Devon in 1944. Full name Rev William Doveton Keith-Steele. Marriage in Kensington , 1906 (4)...STEEL William Doveton Keith Ref 1a259, spouse
