English: Members of the Pauson family based in Lichtenfels, Upper Franconia, Bavaria and the Hess family based in Erfurt, Province of Saxony, German Reich. The adults are from the left: Stefan Pauson (1887–1963), Robert Pauson (1897–1960), Rosa Pauson (1864–1949), nee Fechheimer and Thekla Hess (1884–1968), nee Pauson. The young boy in front is Hans Hess (1908–1975). Thekla Hess is the wife of industrialist, arts collector and patron of the arts Alfred Hess (1879–1931), Hans Hess is their sole child. Rosa Pauson, wife of industrialist Pankraz Pauson (1852–1910) is Stefan and Robert Pauson's and Thekla Hess's mother, but Hans Hess's grandmother.

Der kleine Junge ist Hans Hess (1908–1975). Die Geschwister Stefan, Robert und Thekla sind Kinder der Rosa und des Korbfabrikanten Pankraz Pauson (1852–1910) aus Lichtenfels.
